Here's a roundup of simple yet incredibly useful free extensions for Visual Studio 2015 that will keep you coding instead of fussing, and five of them are from Mads Kristensen!by bill-s, 2016-03-26T08:48:48.000Z
In this video, I had the chance to have a look at some more advanced implementations ASP.NET Core's new policy authorization model with Microsoft's crack security analyst Barry Dorrans (emphasis crack). I learned how to configure ASP.NET Core in more realistic scenarios to authorize access to web applications using code instead of just the presence of a role. We configured a web application to properly grant access to alcohol sales dependent on the country and their minimum age laws. I also discovered how to handle credentials like our security teams do at the office: accepting not just my company id, but also temporary ids and guest ids. I now know everything there is to know about ASP.NET Core Security and am ready to secure my next web application.by bill-s, 2016-03-26T17:36:49.000Z

As apps become more and more location-aware, developers should be asking themselves how to integrate maps and location services into their existing applications. The Universal Windows Platform (UWP) offers a variety of controls and services to do just that.by bill-s, 2016-03-26T17:42:34.000Z
Second, while this all happened in NPM land, this could also happen in NuGet, Maven, Componist, PyPi, Gem and other package managers. Writing code in 2016? Then let me rephrase that: this could happen to you! Someone else can break your build! Imagine what would happen if all of a sudden Newtonsoft.Json was removed from NuGet.org…by bill-s, 2016-03-26T17:44:14.000Z
